MRI VR Simulation

A virtual reality MRI experience to help patients prepare for scans

A virtual reality MRI simulation built in Unity with C# and OpenXR. It recreates the experience of an MRI scan (the machine, the sounds, and the confined space) so patients know what to expect before their real appointment, which is especially helpful for children and people with claustrophobia or anxiety.

The project was presented at an IEEE/ACM venue. Building it meant balancing realism against comfort in VR: accurate audio and visuals of the scanner while avoiding motion sickness, and designing interactions that work for users who have never worn a headset before.
